BIOGRAPHY

about Ben

Ben is now back on the road with some "The Ben Langley Show" commitments performing up and down the country and flying out for one-nighter shows at TUI Sensatori and Holiday Village locations.

Last May he was asked to perform twenty minutes of his act for the Queen at the Royal Horse Show in Windsor Castle and has just been completed filming a small role in the all new BBC Christmas Special and revival of Worzel Gummidge written, directed and starring Mackenzie Crook.

An established "christmas show' comic, Ben will star in The Great Yarmouth Hippodrome Christmas Spectacular this year keeping him in Norfolk, the place he loves the most.

Last year he celebrated his nineteenth pantomime at the Norwich Theatre Royal playing Wishee Washee in Aladdin. He’s worked extensively in theatre as both an actor and performer with many credits that include Charlie Chaplin in Franco Zefirelli’s Il Pagliacci at The Royal Opera House Covent Garden with Placido Domingo to appearing with Mackenzie Crook and Toby Jones in the hit BBC4 comedy 'Detectorists' seasons one and three. He landed the part of the Storyteller in the Cbeebies show Treasure Champs (Series 1 & 2) having been asked to do the pilot.

Ben appeared on Britain's Got Talent 2018 showcasing his Misheard Lyric routine which won him four yes's from the judges and a standing ovation. When the panel failed to put him through to the live semi finals the UK responded with thousands of Tweets of disapproval winning Ben the love of the public. His BGT appearance hit 3.4 million views on youtube in the first three weeks and is now at 15.5 million.

Ben owes much of his performance ability to eighteen years of street performing on the tough cobblestones of Covent Garden. Having performed in the world famous Cromer Seaside Variety Show for two seasons he went on to support Joe Pasquale and top ventriloquist and America’s Got Talent Winner Paul Zerdin for two years; suffice to say #TheBenLangleyShow is a regular occurrence on the holiday Park and fly-out circuit all over the world and has won him a place in the top jobbing variety acts in the country.

Ben wrote, performed and directed the critically acclaimed 'Ha Ha...!' shows (2007 - 14) which over the years starred Joe Pasquale, Su Pollard and Cannon and Ball.Ben writes regularly penning material for comics and projects for theatre companies. He also wrote two forty five minute children's shows for John Fowler Holiday Parks Ltd incorporating their skin characters one of which was an audio story.

He wrote the "new west end show" for the Pauline Quirk Academy ‘Trouble’s A Brewin’ which from May 2018 has been performed at Her Majesty’s Theatre and Shaftesbury Theatre every Sunday and will continue until 2020. He is now working on the next show which will open in June 2021.

Home is in South Norfolk where he lives with his choreographer wife, Sarah and their two boys Elwood and Loxley.
