about Ben

An established pantomime comic, Ben celebrates his nineteenth this year at the Norwich Theatre Royal playing Wishee Washee in Aladdin. He’s worked extensively in theatre as both an actor and performer with many credits that include Charlie Chaplin in Franco Zefirelli’s Il Pagliacci at The Royal Opera House Covent Garden with Placido Domingo to appearing with Mackenzie Crook and Toby Jones in the hit BBC4 comedy 'Detectorists' seasons one and three. He landed the part of the Storyteller in the new Cbeebies show Treasure Champs having been asked to do the pilot.

This year Ben appeared on Britain's Got Talent showcasing his Misheard Lyric routine which won him four yes's from the judges and a standing ovation. When the panel failed to put him through to the live semi finals the UK responded with thousands of Tweets of disapproval winning Ben the love of the public. His BGT appearance hit 3.7 million views on youtube in the first three weeks and now rests at 7.1 million.

Ben owes much of his performance ability to eighteen years of street performing on the tough cobblestones of Covent Garden. Having performed in the world famous Cromer Seaside Variety Show for two seasons he went on to support Joe Pasquale and top ventriloquist and America’s Got Talent Winner Paul Zerdin for two years; suffice to say #TheBenLangleyShow is a regular occurrence on the holiday Park and fly-out circuit all over the world and has won him a place in the top jobbing variety acts in the country.

Ben wrote, performed and directed the critically acclaimed 'Ha Ha...!' shows which over the years starred Joe Pasquale, Su Pollard and Cannon and Ball. Ben writes regularly penning material for comics and projects for theatre companies. His latest venture is writing two forty five minute children's shows for John Fowler Holiday Parks Ltd incorporating their skin characters.

He wrote the new westend show for the Pauline Quirk Academy ‘Trouble’s A Brewin’ which from May 27th 2018 will be performed at Her Majesty’s Theatre and Shaftesbury Theatre every Sunday for three years. He is now working on the next show with the PQA team.

Home is in South Norfolk where he lives with his choreographer wife, Sarah and their two boys Elwood and Loxley.
